Booking train tickets for FlixTrain
There are many options to book your train ticket and here you can find an overview of all booking options. This step-by-step guide helps you find your way around and book your ticket online on the website, via the FlixBus App, or in a FlixShop.
Boarding without a valid FlixTrain ticket is not permitted. If you board without a valid ticket, the fare is higher and there is a possibility that we will have to disembark you if we don't have a seat available. Tickets must be purchased beforehand online, using the app, or in the shop. This enables us to guarantee that every passenger has a seat.
Your FlixTrain ticket has a train connection and is only valid on the train indicated on the ticket. Your ticket therefore cannot be transferred to another train.
Note: DB tickets (incl. Bahncard), local public transport tickets, Verbund tickets, Bundeswehr tickets, semester tickets, etc. are not permitted.
Booking on our website
Step 1: Choose your train trip in 3 clicks:
- Enter the point of departure, the destination, and the date of your trip
- Select the number of people traveling with you.
- Click "Search" to find the best price for your trip.
As soon as you find your train trip, just click "Book" to go to the checkout page. Your trip is reserved for 10 minutes on our website until you complete the payment.
Step 2: Pay for your train ticket
We offer the following payment methods to pay for your ticket:
- Debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express)
- Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal
After you select the payment method, enter the necessary information and click on "Pay now".
Step 3: Confirmation via email
After you book your ticket, we will send you a trip summary via e-mail:
- Date and time of departure and arrival
- Point of departure and arrival
- Overview of the charged fare
- Name(s) of the passenger(s)
This booking confirmation serves as your ticket as well. Please show it to the train staff digitally (no need to print it).
Booking on our app
Step 1: Download the FlixBus App from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
Step 2: Select your trip conveniently via the App.
Step 3: Pay for your trip by selecting your preferred payment method.
Booking on our FlixShop
If you want to purchase your ticket offline, you can do so at one of our official ticket resellers or FlixShops. Find a ticket sales point near you here.
Changing or canceling my ticket
Regardless of how you booked your ticket (online, app or in the FlixShop), you have the option of undoing your booking. On the Manage My Booking area, you can find all the answers to your questions on changing and cancelling your reservation.
